Liposuction Sydney

Remove unwanted fat

Liposuction is an exceptional way to tackle those hard to tone areas, and at Park Clinic Plastic Surgery, Drs Phoon and Moradi provide safe and reliable techniques to achieve your goals.

The best candidates for liposuction, also called liposculpture, are individuals who are of normal weight, and have firm, elastic skin, but endure an abnormal distribution of fat in specific areas of the body. These areas can include hips, thighs and neck, just to name a few. Liposuction is considered a major surgical procedure, although it is performed with minimally invasive technology and can take hours to perform properly, while achieving optimal results.

Liposuction is not a weight loss technique. It cannot be used to reduce stretch marks. The target areas for liposuction are those that do not respond to exercise or proper physical maintenance.

Below are some of the more frequent questions we are asked about liposuction. If your question is not listed please contact our friendly and experienced team.

What to Expect

Procedure: Liposuction is performed using small, inconspicuous incisions. This allows complete healing, with minimal scarring so the results are viewed with discretion and simplicity.

Description: The patient will receive a local anaesthetic, including a saline and adrenaline solution that is infused to reduce bleeding and aid in post-operative pain and healing time. The small incisions are made at the pre-determined positions, before a thin, hollow tube is inserted to loosen the targeted fat. The tube, and fat, is dislodged and suctioned through the tube and out of the body by way of vacuum technology.

Recovery: Liposuction is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anaesthetic. The recovery time is usually one week away from work.

What does the treatment cost?

The overall cost of liposuction depends on a number of factors, and can only be determined on a personal and individualised basis. The procedure’s costs will be evaluated prior to surgery, and outlined in detail for each patient. Some variables may include:

  • Whether the procedure is being performed alone, or in conjunction with another procedure such as a tummy tuck or face lift
  • The amount of liposuction performed
  • Anaesthetist’s Fee
  • Private Hospital or Outpatient Surgical Facility Fees
  • Post-operative Garment Necessity
  • Length of Hospital Stay
  • Addition of Contouring Procedures including Labiaplasty, Arm Lift, Thigh Lift or Tummy Tuck

What are the risks and complications?

Liposuction surgery and its risks and complications will be discussed with each patient in full prior to surgery.
