The cost of your eyelid surgery will vary, depending on your goals and the results of your personal assessment. We do like to be as upfront as possible about costs, and it is usual for the costs for this procedure to range from $5,000-$8,000. We will be able to give you a final figure after you have had your initial consultation with Dr Moradi or Dr Phoon.
The following factors can influence the cost:
- Anesthetist’s fee
- Necessity of both upper and lower eyelids to be operated on simultaneously
- Private hospital stay or outpatient surgical facility fees
- Surgical assistant’s fee
- Necessity of additional facial plastic surgery procedures including brow lift, face lift, neck lift or nose surgery
Our consultations are there to place you in a position of understanding. We will make sure you understand:
- The specifications and descriptions of the surgical procedure itself
- The recovery times and requirements
- The risks and how we will manage them
- The all-important results
For your reference, we outline the procedure below, but if you have any questions prior to a consultation, in the run up to surgery or during recovery we are always happy to answer them.
Before any treatment we will conduct a personal consultation at which time we will review to ensure Blepharoplasty is the best treatment for you. Once deemed appropriate the treatment will be conducted by our experienced and skill surgeon.
An incision will be made within the inner eyelid or just below the eyelashes, if needed we will remove or redistribute excess fat and will then tighten the septum to provide the youthful, alert look.
Consultation: When we consult with you we will look closely at both your eyebrows and your eyelids. This is because the eyelids are directly influenced by the eyebrows. Sometimes your goals for wanting eyelid surgery will be better served by a brow lift.
During your consultation we will listen carefully to what you want to achieve rather than just what you are asking for. This ensures you receive the best treatment and experience that we can offer.
Description: We will make an incision within the inner eyelid, or directly below the eyelashes, to give us direct access to the septum of the lower eyelid and the muscles that lie in it.
If we need to we will either redistribute or remove excess fat to provide an optimal, youthful appearance.
The septum itself, which plays a key role in supporting the lower eyelid, will be tightened to provide the strength needed to maintain your new, alert look.
Recovery: After just one week, the sutures will be removed.
The incisions are made in places well hidden by skin creases: this gives you complete discretion whilst they heal. However, since the eyelid skin is so thin, some bruising and swelling can be expected to last up to three weeks.
Most patients are able to return to work after seven to ten days.
Blepharoplasty, like all surgical procedures, does carry some risks and complications. These are relatively rare and will be discussed with you during your consultation.
